Custom design is where your dreams become treasured family heirlooms. When entering Tovon & Co., whether looking to create a custom diamond engagement ring, wedding band or necklace, each customer receives Tommy’s personalized attention. Tommy and his team want to learn about you – your story, your likes and dislikes, and how to make this one-of-a-kind jewelry to become a family heirloom to pass on from generation to generation. From start to finish, this creation process is done right in our design studio, so there is no worry about your piece being lost in transit or outsourced to a third party. Tovon & Co. takes pride in you trusting Tommy to create a one-of-a-kind piece, using his 40 years of experience. Getting to know your Diamonds are best experienced in person, their sparkle, their size and their shape. To get a feel for what styles a client likes, Tommy recommends bringing along images of favorite pieces for inspiration. After exchanging ideas, the client is encouraged to browse around the store to find pieces they love, so Tommy can get an idea of what they prefer, to incorporate their likes to create one perfect piece. He is so versatile, he can even work with a picture you send to him via email. Creating a Rendering After talking with Tommy about preferences and what is wanted in the engagement diamond ring, wedding band, necklace or anything imagined, he’ll use CAD (Computer Aided Design Program) to create a 3D image of your dream piece of jewelry, and render it in whatever colored precious metal you prefer. This provides you with a realistic visual model complete with any diamonds or gemstones, and the color of the metal, whether platinum, yellow gold or white gold. This computer rendering is a great preview of what is to follow. Creating a Model Once a design is finalized, it then becomes a physical model- either by 3D printing or by milling the piece in wax. This allows the customer to try the ring on for size, and to get a realistic idea of the appearance, scale and intricate details of the actual completed piece. A Model Becomes Jewelry After your final approval of the design, it is finally time to cast the model. It is casted right here in the Dallas, Pennsylvania. Then after casting, any necessary hand forged elements or hand engraving is added. Once the metal work is completed, it is time to polish and add the gemstone. To finalize the piece, any final textures and details can be added. With that, your custom piece of jewelry is born. After the Purchase Tommy and his team offer inspections and cleanings for life with every piece of jewelry purchased from him. This ensures each diamond is as beautiful thirty years from now as it is today. Also, any white gold jewelry is cleaned, checked and Rhodium plated, free of charge for life.
